LEAP of Noble County, Inc. Highlights 2003-2006

•        September 2005 - Leap opened the Ligonier Learning Center
in Ligonier. This helps us serve all of Noble County.

•        Summer 2005 - Once again, 80% of Noble County students
who regularly attend sessions showed growth over the past year.

•        Summer 2004-the
Noble County Learning Center opened its
doors on Saturday to accommodate the overwhelming demand for
one-on-one tutoring and homework services

•        May 2004-LEAP GED Graduate
Ellie Hassinger was named the
Indiana Outstanding Adult Learner of the Year by the Indiana Adult
And Continuing Education Association

•        May 2004-75% of the students regularly attending tutoring
sessions at the Noble County Learning Center showed academic
growth over the past year

•        May 2004-the New DAWN After School Program at the West
Noble School Corporation provided tutoring, homework help, and
character enrichment for more than 275 students over the last
school year

•        May 2004-Adult student
Bobbi Snyder earned her GED after
attending
GED classes at the Even Start Family Literacy Program

•        May 2004-LEAP served more than 90 adults in its multi-level
ENL Classes

•        April 2004-LEAP organized a community collaboration to
bring a county-wide literacy needs assessment to Noble County
through Indiana University

•        October 2003-13 Adult students earned their GED after
attending
GED classes in Albion

•        Summer 2003-LEAP put 2,200 “Orphaned Books” into the
hands of Noble County readers

•        March 2003-LEAP brought a 1.3 million dollar grant from the
Indiana Department of Education to Noble County to provide the
New DAWN After School and Out of School Program
