What does LEAP stand for?

It stands for the Literacy, Empowering, and Advocating Project.



What services do you offer?

GED classes, English as a New Language classes for adults, tutoring for all ages in all parts of Noble County, and a before and afterschool program with West Noble School Corporation



Do you charge for any of your services?

We charge $20 per year per student for our English as a New Language classes.  There is a $10 registration fee per year per student in the before and/or afterschool program.  Tutoring fees are based on your income and are on a sliding scale.  Tutoring fees are paid per month and scholarships are available.



Do you offer the GED test?

No, we do not offer the actual test.  We do offer GED classes, however.  If you would like to take the GED test, please call Four County Vocational Cooperative at 888-349-0250.



What are your hours?

They vary by location.  Please look under the "Our Programs" tab and look up the program to find out its hours.



How often does tutoring take place?

Tutoring is offered 2 times per week and lasts 45 minutes per session.



How many students work with a tutor at the same time?

The ratio is 2:1.  The 2 students that work with the tutor are placed together b/c of age and/or subject areas they are working on.



What ages do you tutor and in what subject areas?

We tutor students of all ages, from preschool up through adults.  We also tutor people in all subject areas.  However, when a student is working on more advanced coursework, such as calculus, we may or may not be able to tutor him/her based upon the availability of a tutor with that specific expertise.



Where does your funding come from?

We have a variety of funding sources, including grants from local foundations, a state grant, local business donations, and local individual donations.  Additionally, our own employees and Board of Directors contribute to our organization.  For more specific information about our funding sources, please feel free to contact us.
